Bio

Vivianne Perelmuter est née à Rio de Janeiro (Brésil). A huit ans, elle émigre en Europe avec sa famille. Après des études de philosophie et de sciences politiques à l’ULB (Bruxelles), elle entre à la Fémis à Paris. Elle a réalisé plusieurs court-métrages et documentaires sélectionnés dans de nombreux festivals (Mannheim, Vienne, Cinéma du Réel, Lussas, Sao Paulo, Bilbao, Lisbonne, Oberhausen, Pesaro, Munich…). Le Vertige des Possibles est son premier long métrage.
Depuis 2010, elle enseigne à l’Université de Corte, en Corse.

Vivianne Perelmuter was born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) but has lived in France since the age of eight.
After studying philosophy and political sciences, Vivianne entered the French film school (La Fémis-IDHEC). She has made several short films and documentaries (Slow As We Are, North by Memory, A Place On Earth, Description of a Fight, Bear) which have been selected and awarded in many festivals (Munich, Cinéma du Réel, Lussas, Belfort, Nyons, Mannheim, Oberhausen, Wien, Rio, Lisbon, Pesaro, Bilbao, Buenos Aires, etc.).
Some of her films have been broadcasted on the German-French TV Arte and on TV5 monde (worldwide) and were produced with grants from the CNC (National Center for Cinema).
Her first feature, Uncertain Time (Le Vertige des Possibles), was recently released in Paris (March 2014) and received high critical acclaim by Le Monde, Libération, Critikat, AVoirALire, Le Point, etc.
The movie played in Paris for five months and will be broadcasted on Ciné+ channel in 2015.
It is on the Magritte nomination list for the First Feature Award in Belgium.
